Dalen Quigley

The “Face” of Wailin Dalen Entertainment. Dalen has always been passionate about music, starting at an early age in the form of forced piano lessons. However, he secretly enjoyed playing and this was the beginning of his love for music. Dalen was always drawn to music and could be found manning the stereo at house parties or family gatherings. Making “mixed tapes” ( ya he is kinda old .. ) was also a favourite hobby of his so I guess it is no surprise that he stumbled across Dj’ing events. It did take him awhile to find this path. He is a full time elementary school teacher in the Surrey School District and it wasn’t until a night out at a pub where they were having karaoke that Dalen had one to many and was convinced to sing ( something he had never done out loud before). Well as it turns out he could sing and in the next year he won the top male singer in the British Columbia Karaoke Championships. Singing became a new passion of Dalens and from this a Karaoke Company was born. It didn’t take long for friends of Dalens to ask him to Dj their weddings and after great feedback and several requests to do more weddings, Wailin Dalen Entertainment grew into much more than a Karaoke Company. Dalen continues to teach grade 4/5 in Cloverdale and often spends his weekends providing music for events.

Wow! Where to begin!? Right from the get-go Dalen was approachable, funny, and easy to work with. After just a few sentences back and forth I could tell he had a vast amount of experience and is passionate about what he does. He surpassed our expectations for both the ceremony and the reception with ease; he seemed to read our minds for song choices all night long! We couldn’t have been happier! After the first dance, the dance floor was full the rest of the night and we had to force the 75-100 people still dancing to leave when our venue was closing! What a great problem to have! Since January we’ve had nothing but compliments about the music! Thank you Dalen for dj’ing the most unforgettable night of our lives, it truly was perfect!

DJ Robichaud

Wailin Dalen’s longest serving Dj! Dj has always had a passion for music. He also has a passion for lighting and film and started out in sound and lighting for Shaw TV. Dj has a knack for picking the right music for any event. He has years of experience on the mic as he also hosts a weekly karaoke show. Actually, Dj met his fiance and the mother of his child at a Wailin Dalen karaoke show! He is fun, energetic, and a crowd pleaser. Dj is Wailin Dalen’s hardest working Dj and has done a vast amount of weddings and events over the last 4 years with Wailin Dalen. We are happy to have him and you will be too!

I highly recommend Wailin’ Dalen Entertainment! Dalen was a pleasure to work with in the months leading up to the wedding and the online event planning tool was so helpful — especially the lists of most popular requested songs, etc. At our wedding, DJ was beyond fantastic — he was punctual, completely organized and rolled with it when we changed our timing slightly. He played all our requests, and kept the dance floor going all night!

Trevor McManus

Trevor is an excellent addition to Wailin Dalen mainly for his quirky sense of humour and his flair for customer service. Along with Dj’ing for Wailin Dalen, Trevor is an accomplished radio Dj for over six years working for Jim Pattison Corp. and Bell Media all over this lovely province of ours. He has worked in all genre’s of music and specializes in Bollywood and Country! Quite the mix! Not afaid one bit on the mic Trevor always adds flair to his events! Don’t have an MC? Well you know where to turn! Trevor is also newly engaged to the love of his life Mindy.

“Looking back on our big day, one of the highlights was our music! Trevor was beyond awesome throughout the entire evening! He played everything we wanted him to and kept the dance floor busy all night! He read the crowd incredibly well and played music that kept everyone happy! I was amazed at how many people were still up dancing at the end of the night asking if it was really time to pack up (we had to be out of the venue at a certain time)!! He also found me at the end of the night to congratulate us on our wedding- very sweet!
We want to thank Wailin Dalen (both Dalen and Trevor) for being so kind and patient with us during our planning process! We truly appreciate everything you did and will certainly recommend you to everyone we know!

Randy Farmer

Randy Farmer is a DJ with wedding and night club experience over the last 11 years. He is also the morning show host on 97.1 Sun FM in Penticton where he has lived since 1998. He refers to himself as the “all over the map” kind of dj He likes and plays it all. Ready to spin what you want to hear and take your requests. “I look forward to meeting with you and hopefully being part of your wedding, Christmas party, office party, or whatever the occasion may be.:)

Kirsten Manning

Kirsten has always had a great passion for music, whether listening to it or performing it herself! Growing up in a family of musicians and music lovers, Kirsten gained an appreciation for all genres of music, spanning generations. Kirsten is fun, friendly and hardworking and she will go above and beyond to make sure your event is one your guests will be talking about for years to come!

Kirsten was amazing! We had her DJ and mc our wedding and it was fantastic. She was super professional and was able to do everything we asked of her and so much more. She had a great variety of music and was able to play every song we requested. I highly recommend her.

Ashlyn Janelle

Ashlyn has always been a lover of music, as both a dancer and a musician. She loves how music creates memories and experiences. Music can be used to set any mood. She has an appreciation and passion for all music and tries to incorporate it into everything that she does. Outside of DJing she loves wording with children and playing sports. Ashlyn loves having fun and using music to create a soundtrack for a great night and amazing.

Can’t say enough how amazing Wailin Dalen Entertainment was at our wedding!! Do to a venue cancellation we had to change plans, more than once and Dalen was so easy going and accommodating. He is easy to communicate with and quick to respond to emails. Our DJ was Ashlyn and she was amazing!! Quick to respond to emails, showed up/set up early so she was ready to go on time. She was professional, had everyone on the dance floor, and is just a really kind person! I had some not so great vendors at my wedding but would recommend this company 100 times over!!

Elliot Lemire – DJ RedundantT

Elliott has been passionate about music from an early age. His parents got him an electric guitar when he was young and as much as he loved it, and preformed for his family, he had no idea how to play; he still doesn’t. He Joined the High school band as a Drummer and found his calling. He loved keeping a beat and continues to today. He was always fascinated by what the DJ was doing at any event and new that he would one day be the man behind the tables. Once he came home from his Tour in Afghanistan the second thing he did was buy a set of Decks. Since then he’s gone from throwing house parties to DJing NYE parties, his Sister-in-laws wedding, HIS OWN WEDDING, and now DJ / MC various weddings and functions for clients. Soldier by Day, DJ by night..

DJ RedundantT was our DJ for both our wedding ceremony and reception. He was awesome! He clearly walked us thru the planning, music selection, and what was required, and gave excellent advice. He was fantastic to work with and seamlessly liaised with our venue and wedding coordinators to make sure it went off without a hitch. When we lost our speeches, in a pinch he managed to get a copy to us by phone and literally saved our wedding (as he so often reminds us)! Our guest that stuck around for the post-reception dance party had a blast. I continually recommended him to my friends!

Tara Moskalyk

Music is in Tara’s soul; she lives and breathes it. Her parents are avid fans and were always blasting music in the house when she was growing up; her early years were spent listening to everything from The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, and Motown to New Wave music. As far back as she can remember, Tara was been memorized by the lyrics in songs and staging shows and productions in their living room. Then it developed into road trip mixed tapes and parties always consisted of me making incredible playlists. In later years, cultivating playlists and djing for events and special occasions. These days, Tara is always looking to discover the latest indie or modern rock bands to add to her arsenal. That said, Tara does have a very soft spot for those guilty pleasure tracks that everyone knows and loves to dance to! I genuinely feel that the right music at the right time is what makes an event memorable and meaningful, in the way a song can attach itself to a memory that stays with you each and every time you hear it play. Tara looks forward to customizing a mood and playlist that will contribute a magical atmosphere that guests will remember for years to come.

Tara was friendly and professional! She respected the different ages of the guests and managed to cater to everyone’s dancing requests. The selection of dinner music was lovely and we had an absolute blast on the dance-floor. The lighting/decor was a fun addition without being overboard. Highly recommend this team of DJ’s!

Simone Grewal- MC

Simone is an accomplished broadcaster, writer and producer and has worked at various television and radio stations in Metro Vancouver for the last 16 years.
Currently she is an announcer with Z 95.3 FM & CISL 650. Simone also works as music programmer & digital content editor. In her spare time, Simone volunteers her time as a committee member on the BC Children’s Hospital South Asian Division & contributes to media marketing & social media for the annual Miracle Weekend telethon. She is also on the advisory board for the BCIT Radio Arts & Entertainment Program. Simone does work as freelance voice over artist, and can also be available for speaking engagements and emceeing at community and charity events. That’s not all, she’s also danced in a Bollywood film, performed standup comedy in LA, given childbirth…but somehow she can’t pronounce the word intricate. Let her help make your special day go by smoothly with her experience and talents.

Kylene Shannon

Kylene is an avid music lover whether its listening, playing or performing with her band. That’s right , Kylene is the lead singer for “Stolen Property” a dynamic cover band that plays the local pub circuit. She is far from shy and always makes you feel like you have known each other for years even after you just met. Bubbly, friendly and charismatic are often used by many to describe this Wailin Dalen Dj! She will bring fun to your event and might even sing you a tune if you ask real nice! As she puts it “What’s important to you is important to me! ” Kylene has been with Wailin Dalen for two years and says she loves working for an organized and passionate professional! ( I think she is just sucking up!)

Mark Poy

Mark loves all aspects of making music. He started by travelling the world playing for different bands, to working in recording studios, to Karaoke hosting, to Djing. Mark says “working for Wailin Dalen lets him have the funnest part of making music – seeing the smiles on peoples faces”. And with Mark’s friendly, easygoing style and commitment to making every event the best, he sees a lot of smiles!

Amazing!

We booked Wailin Dalen about a year before our Wedding. Due to Covid protocols, we had to postpone about 4 times and there were no issues whatsoever with rescheduling with Wailin Dalen, they were very accommodating. We spoke with our DJ (Mark) a few days prior to our wedding day and hammered all the little details out over the phone. On the day of the wedding, everything went off without a hitch!! Mark was AMAZING and was so easy to work with…he even rearranged his equipment so we could dance outside due to the Covid protocols at the time. All of our guests LOVED Marks selections and our dance floor/patio was always active!! Thank You Wailing Dalen and Thank you Mark for making our day very memorable!!!
